To get to the other side

Is my life a Pee-Wee Herman movie?

I was driving up my street this morning, muttering to myself about Monday and morning and sleep and work, when I had to stop. And wait. For a chicken--a rooster, actually--to cross the road.

But...WHY?

Why? Obviously so it could get to the other side, DUH!

Or, maybe to get away from Colonel Sanders?

If it was an incarnation of Hemmingway, it was crossing the road to die. Alone. In the rain.

Timothy Leary would say that the Establishment would only let it cross the road.

And David Hume says that it it crossed because of custom and habit.

Thought you ought to know . . .
